Tour Rio de Janeiro in Style

Tour Rio de Janeiro in Style: My Luxury Experience Recap

In June, I had the unforgettable opportunity to explore Rio de Janeiro in absolute style—and I’m here to tell you that the Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City) lives up to its name. From five-star pampering to private coastal views, here’s how we experienced Rio in style!

Luxury Hotels with Stunning Views & Service

View of Copacabana beach from the Fairmont

We stayed at the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana, where every sunrise over the Atlantic was magical. The property boasts:

  • Rooftop infinity pool overlooking Copacabana Beach
  • Exclusive Fairmont Gold Lounge access with butler service
  • Luxurious spa treatments and wellness amenities

It was the perfect home base for both beachside relaxation and upscale excursions.

Helicopter Tour Over Rio

Helicopter tour of Rio

A great way to grasp Rio’s natural beauty than from the sky. The helicopter tour soared near:

  • Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado
  • The Sugarloaf Mountain coastline
  • Guanabara Bay and the Jardim Botânico

I was told that seeing the city’s mountains, beaches, and favelas from above gave a powerful sense of its contrasts and culture.

Private Yacht Cruise Along the Coast

Yacht tour of Guanabara Bay

Yes, we took to the sea—and it was spectacular. Our private yacht tour glided past:

  • Ipanema and Copacabana beaches
  • The hidden cove of Ilha Fiscal
  • Crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and sipping caipirinhas

It was the ultimate VIP experience, complete with music, drinks, and tasty eats.

Jeep Tour to Rio’s Wild Side

Barra da Tijuca in front of the Grand Hyatt

To explore Rio’s less-touristed corners, we went off-road in a guided Jeep tour that took us:

  • Near Tijuca Forest, one of the largest urban rainforests in the world
  • Close to Grumari and Prainha, secluded beaches with untouched beauty
  • Includes access to panoramic viewpoints not reachable by car

This blend of luxury and eco-adventure was a highlight of the trip.

Dining in Style: From Rooftops to Historical Gems

Emiliano Rio rooftop dining

We dined at some of Rio’s most memorable spots, including:

  • A rooftop dinner at Emiliano Rio, with panoramic ocean views and exquisite modern Brazilian cuisine
  • Confeitaria Colombo, an ornate Belle Époque café with a rich history of serving royalty and intellectuals
  • Copacabana Palace: here there are several restaurants to chose from including poolside dining to Michelin Star ️ dining.
  • Grand Hyatt Rio- Shiso Japanese restaurant has delicious sushi & sashimi
